November 2016 Chapter Meeting at USAFA/Tour of the Center for Character and Leadership Development

Join us for this great opportunity to visit the Air Force Academy’s newest icon – the Center for Character and Leadership Development (CCLD)

The CCLD serves an integrating focal point of USAFA’s commitment to developing leaders of character. Since character and leadership are complementary and inseparable concepts, in a military context synergies result from integrating character and leadership considerations into the common effort of the Academy’s academic, military and athletic elements. The focus of the CCLD is on the development of cadet character and leadership through high quality, daily interactions with faculty and staff. The Center’s three areas of commitment are:

1) To elevate and integrate character and leadership development, both conceptually and structurally throughout the entire USAFA experience

2) To advance the scholarship of character and leadership

3) To facilitate education and experiences for USAFA cadets and   staff that develops their identities as servants of the nation, warrior professionals, and leaders of character.

Mission: Advance the understanding, practice, and integration of character and leadership development in preparation for service to the nation in the profession of arms.

Vision: The Air Force’s premier Center for integrating the development of character and leadership; the Academy’s catalyst for achieving its highest purpose.

SO CO ASSE Meeting and Tour on November 18th:

Please use the North Gate entrance at the Air Force Academy.  As the attached picture shows, you will need a valid driver’s license to access USAFA.  You should also have you proof of insurance and registration available in case asked to see it.

We will meet in the upper parking lot west of the Cadet Wing and will walk over to the CCLD as a group.  We will leave the parking lot at 1:30 sharp so please allow a little extra time to get through the North Gate.

At 1:30, all of us will walk from the parking lot to the CCLD where we will have a short chapter meeting and then begin the tour.  Expect departure from the CCDL no later than 3:00pm for the return walk to the parking lot.
